Student Life

The Villages is located in the heart of central Florida, 20 miles south of Ocala, less than 40 miles north of Clermont, and just outside of Leesburg and Lady Lake. Students at the TENAJ Salon Institute have the opportunity to take advantage of so many amenities The Villages has to offer!

During lunch breaks, students can grab lunch at several fast-food locations including McDonalds, Arby’s, Taco Bell, and Steak and Shake. Fresh Market is just down the road, as is Olive Garden along with plenty of privately-owned pizza parlors and cafes! Peach Wave frozen yogurt is the perfect treat. 

After class, students can visit one of three town squares with movie theaters, dining, shopping, and live entertainment every night of the year! There are also opportunities to network at a multitude of local salons and meet potential future employers! (Salon owners also regularly visit TENAJ to recruit students for their salons and spas.)

The Villages is around 10 miles from Lake Weir and Lake Griffin, and 20 miles from Lake Harris. These hot spots are perfect for water loves on nice days. The Villages is less than 30 miles from Mt. Dora, where art lovers and foodies spend the day window-shopping and trying delicious foods from their favorite, local restaurants. Tavares, a great town for music fans and nightlife, is only 20 miles southeast of The Villages as well. 

Financial Aid

If you’re set on establishing a career in the beauty industry, but can’t afford the education, we now offer Pell Grants and Federal Financial Aid to those who qualify to help with tuition and living expenses.

You can complete a FREE application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The school code for The TENAJ Salon Institute is 041632.

The TENAJ Salon Institute is approved by the Department of Education to offer financial aid to those who qualify.
